Service & Billing Policies
Service
GreyhoundLegal.com provides professional process-serving efforts, field attempts, stakeout/wait time, documentation, and related services. Payment is for the work performed and resources committed to the assignment; successful service is not guaranteed.
Once an assignment has been dispatched to a process server, an attempt has been made, or authorized stakeout/wait time has begun, the applicable charges are earned and payable. This includes travel, field time, attempts, wait time, stakeout time, rerouting, additional addresses, service changes, and other authorized work

We make up to eight attempts at the address provided by the customer unless otherwise arranged. If multiple targets or case numbers are included within an order, additional affidavits or declarations may result in additional service charges.
Supplemental charges may also result from rerouting, service changes, returning to an address, incorrect or incomplete information, or other circumstances requiring additional field work.
Customer Information & Communication
Successful service can depend heavily on timely and accurate information. Customers are encouraged to provide all available photographs, vehicle descriptions, license plates, schedules, workplace information, access details, identifying information, and other information that may assist the process server.
Rush assignments, stakeouts, surveillance-style waiting, and services involving individuals who may be difficult to locate or serve often require ongoing communication between the customer, legal staff, GreyhoundLegal.com, and the process server.
Customers should monitor written service updates and respond promptly when additional information is requested. Delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable information may affect the outcome of service but does not eliminate charges for work already performed.
Written communication is preferred whenever possible so instructions, updates, identifying information, and changes can be accurately documented and transmitted to the process server.
Bad Addresses
A complete service address should include the street name, dwelling or unit number when applicable, and any required north/south or east/west designation.
GreyhoundLegal.com provides online ordering tools intended to help reduce address errors. The service is location-based, and accurate property identifiers help the process server navigate to the correct location.
Missing, incomplete, or incorrect address information may result in a bad-address determination, additional work, rerouting charges, or closure of the assignment.
Outsourcing
Communication delays, regional requirements, municipal restrictions, contractor availability, travel conditions, and other circumstances outside GreyhoundLegal.com's control may delay service or affect results.
Correspondence
Delayed communication can alter the course of service. Process servers are frequently in the field or in transit and may have limited access to email or telephone communications while actively performing assignments.
Special instructions or modifications are welcome but depend upon the server's location and circumstances at the time the information is received. Changes to an assignment may result in additional charges.
Stakeouts & Wait Time
Stakeouts and wait-time assignments are billed at the rate in effect when authorized, subject to the applicable minimum charge.
Once the process server begins an authorized stakeout or wait period, the time is billable regardless of whether the subject appears, leaves the location, returns to the location, or is ultimately served.
Stakeout charges compensate the server for committed field time and availability and are separate from any service-attempt charges unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Billing
Billing becomes due through the completion of authorized work, including service attempts, stakeout/wait time, or any of the following:
Successful service
Voluntary closure
Incomplete or incorrect address
Trespassed server
Announced wrong identity
Confirmed bad address
Validated safety concern
Customer-requested termination of further attempts
Completion of authorized stakeout or wait time
Other authorized field work already performed
Charges for work already performed remain payable even if personal service is not ultimately completed.
Process
Process servers are expected to collect documents, follow service instructions, document their efforts, and comply with applicable procedures for legal process.
Server performance, standing, and assignments may be reviewed through internal auditing and performance evaluation.
Process serving often requires judgment and adaptability in the field. The circumstances encountered during an attempt may change quickly, and successful delivery cannot be guaranteed.
Refunds & Credits
Full refunds are available only when an assignment is canceled before the process server has been dispatched and before any attempted delivery or authorized field work has begun.
Once a process server has been dispatched, an attempt has occurred, or authorized stakeout/wait time has begun, the related service charges are earned and nonrefundable because the work has already been performed and the process server has committed time and resources to the assignment.
An unsuccessful attempt, inability to locate or identify the subject, avoidance of service, incorrect or incomplete address information, inability to complete personal service, lack of access, changed circumstances, or a customer's decision to discontinue further attempts does not create an entitlement to a refund for work already performed.
GreyhoundLegal.com may, at its discretion, provide an account credit, re-service, or other customer-care accommodation.
Commercial accounts may be considered for account credits for routine service based on the circumstances and account history.
Any credit, re-service, or accommodation is discretionary, is not a cash refund unless specifically stated otherwise, and does not constitute an admission of fault or liability.
Satisfaction & Service Results
GreyhoundLegal.com works to provide attentive, professional service and responsive customer support. References to customer satisfaction describe our commitment to customer service and do not constitute a guarantee that every assignment will result in successful service or create an unconditional money-back guarantee.
Process serving depends on circumstances that may be outside the control of GreyhoundLegal.com or the process server, including the subject's location, availability, access, identifying information, avoidance, property conditions, third-party actions, and information available during the assignment.
Billing Disputes & Chargebacks
Questions or concerns regarding billing should be submitted to GreyhoundLegal.com in writing so that the service history, field records, photographs, GPS information, correspondence, and billing records can be reviewed.
A payment dispute or chargeback does not, by itself, cancel charges for authorized services already performed.
If a chargeback or payment dispute is initiated, GreyhoundLegal.com may provide service records,
GPS/accountability information, attempt histories, photographs, correspondence, invoices, authorization records, and other supporting documentation to the applicable payment processor or financial institution.
Any unpaid balance remaining after a payment dispute may remain due and may be handled according to GreyhoundLegal.com's applicable account and collection procedures, as permitted by law.
Collections & Unpaid Balances
All charges for authorized services remain due until paid in full. A billing dispute, chargeback, cancellation request, or decision not to continue with additional service does not eliminate charges for work already performed.
GreyhoundLegal.com may place an account with an unpaid balance on hold, suspend future services, revoke credit privileges, or require payment in advance before accepting additional assignments.
Unpaid balances may be referred to a third-party collection agency or legal counsel when appropriate. The customer may also be responsible for documented collection costs, chargeback fees, court costs, or other recovery expenses when permitted by law and the applicable agreement.
If a payment is reversed, disputed, returned, or charged back after services have been performed, the underlying balance remains due unless GreyhoundLegal.com determines otherwise in writing.
Payments received may be applied to outstanding balances before new work is authorized. GreyhoundLegal.com reserves the right to decline additional assignments while an account remains past due.
Support
Service Accountability Reports are available for $15.
Person searches may be available at no charge when offered as part of GreyhoundLegal.com's services.

Skiptracing & Locations Based Services
GreyhoundLegal.com may use Delvepoint and other third-party databases, public records, proprietary data sources, and investigative tools to assist with skip tracing, address research, vehicle research, person searches, and other location-related services.
Information returned through Delvepoint or any other third-party source is provided as an investigative aid only. GreyhoundLegal.com does not control the underlying data and cannot guarantee that any address, telephone number, vehicle information, employment information, relative information, or other search result is current, complete, or accurate.
Search results may contain outdated, incomplete, conflicting, or incorrect information. A reported address or other location should not be interpreted as a guarantee that the subject currently resides, works, or can be located there.
Fees for skip tracing, location searches, investigative research, and third-party database searches compensate GreyhoundLegal.com for the research performed and are not contingent upon locating the subject or producing a verified current address.
When appropriate, GreyhoundLegal.com may recommend additional research, field verification, service attempts, or other investigative steps to help confirm information returned by a search.
